The count of Silves fell in love with the sea and the vineyards of the Algarve and at the end of the 19th-century planted his first vines at Morgado do Quintão. Today, almost 200 years later, inspired by how wines used to be made in the Algarve, we created a Clarete Algarvio with the region’s most notable grape (Negramole) which faithfully honors the winemaking tradition of this region while celebrating his legacy and the “real Algarve”. Perfect for pairing with the local fish and seafood dishes, amongst friends and family.
Clarete is the purest expression of Algarve’s terroir. Made from Negramole, Algarve’s signature grape, it’s a light wine but full of complexity and elegant tanins. It has been revered as one of Portugal’s best claretes.
