JOURNAL #15 It is important to set our clocks and respect the time for both work and leisure.

Many words can be associated with the act of creating and sharing a meal, but perhaps two stand out most clearly when we think of Bertílio Gomes – generosity and heritage.

Bertílio is the artisan-chef behind Taberna Albricoque restaurant, and he will be preparing, with the help of the Morgado do Quintão team, the delicious food that will be served at the ‘Open House - Harvest Party’. Always mindful of the culture and identity of Portuguese gastronomy, particularly that of the Algarve, Bertílio will surprise us with dishes and flavors that encourage sharing and will nourish this day of celebration as we open the doors of Morgado do Quintão on october the 5th.

In his everyday life, Bertílio is committed to celebrating healthy food, produced locally, which we can access every day through small and nearby producers. At the ‘Open House - Harvest Party’, he will be sure to celebrate and promote the culture of the Algarve.

We share with Bertílio the idea of authenticity and simplicity that is at the heart of the concept of 'home,' where we feel at ease. When we asked him about his favorite place at home, he spoke to us about a centuries-old olive tree and a waterwheel – we couldn’t be more in tune with him.

The Open House - Harvest Party marks the end of another harvest while preparing us for new times and seasons ahead. As Bertílio shared with us, it is important to set our clocks and respect the time for both work and leisure. But in the meantime, let’s celebrate – as suggested by Bertílio Gomes, with the sound of 'Fadinho Alentejano' by Ricardo Ribeiro.
